Jim -
You make a good point about the difficulty of getting an exemption. Thanks.

It's also important for everyone to note that Amazon is not as heavily staffed as eBay. There are fewer people to handle these types of decisions, so it does take awhile for sure - and then an exemption may not be given. As in your case.

Steve,

I speak from experience that UPC exemptions are extremely difficult to obtain. About 1/2 of my products, though brand new from smaller manufacturers (Toys & Hobbies category), carry no UPCs. When I first set up an Amazon merchant account (about 5 months ago) I sent numerous emails requesting a UPC exemption and never received the courtesy of a reply (yes or no). Finally one CS rep told me if they don't reply, it means no. I gave up and closed my account.

Sellers can complain all they want about eBay, but jumping through Amazon hoops can be equally frustrating.

Steve, Thanks for the insight into WordPress. I downloaded it today and started to set it up. However, I ran into a couple of glitches which I'm sure are my fault. The info about the UPC's for Amazon was interesting because I just launched a Self-Defense For Women CD thru http://PollysGirls.com using Kunaki and was considering using Amazon too. You're advice concerning being picky when buying "Make Money" products hit home. I'll just leave it at that....:>)
